THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEERED TO MAKE THE FRIENDS BOOK SALE SUCH A SUCCESS! Whether you helped to move and sort books, helped customers or took payment and bagged purchases, each of you was important to this success. And a special thank you to Trader Joe’s for supplying us with paper bags.
W.K. Sanford Town Library Friends welcome new members.
If you’re not sure what we’re about, the Friends is a support organization to the Colonie Town Library. There are numerous ways the Friends help, such as paying for items that are not covered in the library’s annual budget. Money is raised by selling used books or holding special fundraisers. Here are some of the ways we have helped the library with the funds raised.
Your assistance is needed in many areas. Whether you can volunteer just an hour or on a regular basis, we can use you! There are many opportunities. Beginning in May when the Colonie Farmers Market opens at the Crossings on Saturday mornings, volunteers are needed in two-hour shifts to assist with used-book sales. You can also choose to assist at just one event such as selling raffle tickets, assembling food orders, etc. for an hour or two on a specific day.
It’s easy to join. Annual membership dues are modestly priced:
- $15 Individual Annual Membership
- $25 Household Annual Membership
- $10 Senior Annual Membership
- $250 Business Annual Membership
Just click HERE to pay membership dues by credit card.
Please try us out by attending one of the meetings listed below.

BOOK NOOK OPENS AT THE CROSSINGS MAY 19
Hours are 9:00 am – 1:00 pm every Saturday when the Farmers Market is open. Most items being sold are $1 each. New or special items may be higher. Please stop by while you’re shopping at the Farmers Market.
We need volunteers to staff the Book Nook in two-hour shifts (9:00-11:00 am or 11:00 am – 1:00 pm). If you’ve never worked at the Book Nook before and are interested, please email us below. We’ll have an experienced volunteer work with you, and there will be teen volunteers, too.
Donations of adult and children’s books are accepted during the Book Nook hours. DVDs, CDs and puzzles are also accepted. No text books or encyclopedias please.
Thank you for supporting the Friends of the Library.
