If you are learning English as a foreign language or second language, there are resources scattered about the Web, but few sites do as good a job of bringing them all together as this one. It has links for both students and teachers, including job listings.

English as a Second Language Home Page
A good starting point for ESL learners who want to learn English through the World Wide Web. Contains a lightly annotated directory of links in categories including: Listening and Speaking; Reading with Understanding; Grammar and Writing; ESL-related Information; English Language Schools; and links to other ESL Sites.

Funny Lessons
This is a nice site for Spanish speakers looking to learn English. The site features jokes and funny stories with translations and voc Students can improve their English by reading jokes and humorous stories. All material, vocabulary translated.

ESL (English As a Second Language)

Free, comprehensive ESL Site including forums, realtime chat,jobs, grammar, helplines, multi-lingual content – and much more!

National Clearinghouse for ESL Literacy Education (NCLE )
Focuses its efforts on literacy education for adults learning English as a second language. Major content is the ERIC Digests – concise articles on topics relevant to adult ESL literacy instruction.

Parlo: Language, Culture, and Life
A language site that currently features English, Spanish, and French (Italian and German are in the works) language resources in English, Spanish, and Portuguese versions. Free registration gives you access to vocabulary, lessons, articles, and discussion boards. Explore cultures through musical choices and the Parlo Magazine. Café Parlo provides opportunities to practice the language through chat rooms, message boards, and pen pals. There are also resources for teachers, including lesson plans and job opportunities.

Learn a new language! Mango teaches self-paced language skills through short conversations and film clips in the context of real-world situations. There are over 70 foreign and 21 English as a second language (ESL) languages to choose from. A few of the languages: Spanish (Spain, Latin America), French (France, Canadian), American Sign Language, Far East: (Chinese, Hindi, Korean), ESL for Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Russian speakers.

Learn entirely online from your home PC or a free mobile app. To access it from your PC:
