A good starting point for ESL learners who want to learn English through the World Wide Web. Focuses its efforts on literacy education for adults learning English as a second language. Major content is the ERIC Digests – concise articles on topics relevant to adult ESL literacy instruction.
Parlo: Language, Culture, and Life
A language site that currently features English, Spanish, and French (Italian and German are in the works) language resources in English, Spanish, and Portuguese versions. Free registration gives you access to vocabulary, lessons, articles, and discussion boards. Explore cultures through musical choices and the Parlo Magazine. Café Parlo provides opportunities to practice the language through chat rooms, message boards, and pen pals. There are also resources for teachers, including lesson plans and job opportunities.
