The Giving Tree: The Friends of the William K. Sanford Town Library

The Giving Tree: 40th Anniversary CelebrationIn preparation of the next 40 years, The Friends of the William K. Sanford Town Library have sponsored several fundraising events.  They are very excited to announce The Giving Tree!  Donations in every amount are welcome and a special colored leaf will be added to the tree in your honor.  The Giving Tree is on display inside the library. Click HERE for more information.

Over the past years, The Friends have supported the library in so many ways, including constructing the Reading Garden and ESL Room; reupholstering chairs; and purchasing a new Circulation desk , CD cabinets, special tables for iPads, and educational toys.  They welcome anyone who would like to join them in these efforts!  The next meeting is November 15th at 6:30 in the Youth Services Activity Room.

Looking back, the library has changed in many ways. Looking forward many more changes will be needed. But what remains the same is our library will continue to be a place of community, a source of information, and resource for us all.

Checks may be made payable to “The Friends of the William K. Sanford Town Library” and mailed to 629 Albany Shaker Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.  Donations will be accepted through November 25, 2016. The Friends of the Library is a certified 501(c)3 organization whose only goal is service; all membership dues and monies raised are used for library-connected public service.

A Treasure of Digital Media

overdrive iconMany people are not aware that the library is a main source of free, downloadable books, magazines, audiobooks, and videos for all ages! All you need is a library card and the free OverDrive app (and the free Nook app for magazines).  All these items can be downloaded easily to your smartphone, tablet, or computer. You never have to pay a late fine!  All items are returned automatically at the end of their circulation period, or you can return them yourself with a click of a button.  Even better, the magazines you download are yours to keep forever!
