Book Nook

The Friends operate a popular discount used-book kiosk all summer during the Colonie Farmers’ Market. Drop off your old books and stock up on new reading material. Special books sales are held in April and November. The Fall Book Sale for 2014 is Nov. 16.
We depend on your donations of used books which are always appreciated. You can bring them to the Book Nook in the summer or during Book Sales. Or you can call 518 364 1031 to friends-crossingsarrange for a pickup at any time. The Book Nook always is looking for good children’s books and new fiction. All books are accepted except for textbooks, computer manuals and damaged, ripped or moldy books. If you have old encyclopedias or romance novels please check with us first to see if we are accepting them.

The library itself also sells used books. You have probably seen the sales tables outside the Steadman Room. However, the library does not have the storage capacity to accept donated books in great numbers. In addition, proceeds the library raises through these book sales must be shared with the Town of Colonie. In contrast, the Friends send 100 percent of it book sale proceeds directly to the library for use.

When do the Friends start accepting book donations for the April book sale?

    • Lorelle – Oh my gosh this looks amazing you slosruiey are too good!!I love those lyrics & the canvas & the whole section look fab :)I am sure that you have thought of this, but you could use knobs as the hangers . I have a frame that I have hanging using like a small doorknob . and I am sure you could find a rustic looking one . however I am sure that you have something very specific in your head that will be perfect :)Congrats on the new blog ~ it looks great :)September 20, 2011 11:22 am
